Beavers Split Opening Double-Header

Auburndale, Fl. – UMaine-Farmington baseball team split a doubleheader with Crown College (Minn.) on Monday after losing the first game 4-1 and winning the second game 11-10.

Game One

  • Nick Attaliades-Ryan led the Beavers in hitting with two hits while Riley Chickering had one hit and one RBI.
  • Seth Betts went 2-3 on the day while Camden Wiens went 1-3 with three RBI's.
  • Nate Pushard (0-1) threw five innings giving up five hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts. Ryan Pratt threw one inning giving up two runs, one earned run with two strikeouts.
  • Gideon Dunn (1-1) started for Crown, throwing six innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out nine. JT Adams (Sv 1) struck out two to close out the game.

Game Two

  • Jimmy Parks and Chase Malloy each had two hits and three RBI's while Parks had two runs and Malloy had one run.
  • Taylor Lockhart had the game-winning single to left field and one RBI with one run. Riley Chickering had one hit in two trips with two RBI's and two walks.
  • Chickering started on the mound for the Beavers, throwing four innings, giving up six hits, four earned runs with seven strikeouts. Kevin Carter threw one inning giving up three runs, Justin Rodrigue came in to throw the next inning and a third, while Ryan Pratt came in to finish the game and get his first win of the year.
  • Joel Silva went 2-4 on the day with three RBI's and two runs.
  • Seth Betts went 1-3 with an RBI and a run.
